Timber decay is often the result of a woodworm infestation. Different types of beetle target different types of wood, often leaving long lasting damage. This damage can compromise the structural safety of the timber product in question.

Wet rot
Wet rot is the term often used to describe the vast array of fungal species that cause timber decay. Usually found in damp conditions, wet rot can cause a significant amount of damage if left untreated. Wet rot is often caused by damp and we ensure we identify the root cause of any wet rot in order to decide on the best treatment.

Dry rot
Dry rot is often considered the most serious type of timber decay. A fungus that destroys the structural properties of timber leaving it dry and weak. Dry rot can spread very quickly and compromise the structural integrity of a building. It can easily spread to adjoining properties if not treated quickly.
